That makes even less sense. At least when you're hiring a woman to play a transman, you have a person crossdressing. That's closer than a cis.

No it isn't closer. Trans men are not crossdressing women. They're men.

I love the amount of "it will clearly hurt the movie," from people who were never going to see the movie under any circumstances anyway.

Literally none of you know if the movie will be any good (no matter who the actor was) or if it would make any money (no matter who the actor was).

If you exclude marvel movies, she hasn't appeared in a live action movie that grossed over 50 million in America since 2014. The idea that movie stars bring people to the movies isn't nearly as accurate as it once was.

-Reduced risk of serious accidents (provided everyone heeds it)

Provided everyone heeds it is the important part of that sentence. If they don't--which is often--then driving the speed limit increases that risk.

If you care more about the law than safety, then drive the speed limit. If you care more about driving safely, you drive the speed everyone else is driving, whether that's above or below the speed limit.

Near me are two similar highways that intersect. One has a speed limit of 45, the other 30. I have no idea why the speed limits are so drastically different for similar roads, but most people drive around 40 on both of them (most similar streets here are 35). Speed limits are often kinda' arbitrary, which is really obvious when you find those rare streets where almost everyone drives below the limit.

A lot of traffic laws are about safety, like driving drunk, and traffic lights, and do a genuine service in keeping people safe. Speed limits often aren't about safety, though.

Voted McDonald's. The only other fries of the bunch I've eaten were DQ's, and they fall short of McDonalds', IMO.

Dairy Queen has better fries than a lot of other places. Admittedly, that says more about those other places than it being a glowing endorsement of DQ's fries.

OK, let's assume that the 50-year old guy really was trying to hook up with this 19-year old. 19 is a full-fledged adult. Creepy, yes, but legal. So what the hell does "stand your ground" even mean here? It doesn't even make sense in the normal context, since "standing your ground" doesn't mean kidnapping someone.

Looking at his parents' reaction, this seems like learned behavior. They're just... actually, no, they're not just as bad, they didn't attack and kidnap anyone. They're still awful people, though.
